Shortcuts and how capture works
Capturing while you work in another app
A web page only receives key presses while its own tab is focused, so F9 cannot reach this page once you switch to the app you are documenting. Two things solve that:
- Floating controls. In Chrome and Edge a small always on top window appears when capture starts, with Capture, Pause and Stop. It works over any app.
- Global shortcut. Install the VineFileLab capture extension and press Ctrl+Shift+9 anywhere to take a step.
- Smart capture. Leave it on and you do not need a shortcut at all: a step is created every time the screen changes, which means every click.
