WealthLab is built around a simple principle: your financial data is yours, stored on your device, and never sent to us — because there is no "us" collecting it. There is no account, no login, and no backend server that WealthLab operates.
All the numbers you enter — net worth, daily transactions, goals, calendar reminders, calculation history — are stored using your browser's local storage, on your device only. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it or set up optional Family Sync.
Nothing. WealthLab has no server-side database, no analytics collecting your financial figures, and no account system. We cannot see your net worth, your expenses, your goals, or any calculation you run.
If you choose to enable Family Sync, your data is encrypted in your browser (AES-256-GCM) using a passphrase only you and your family choose, before being sent to a small server file (sync.php) that you or the app's operator host. That server stores only encrypted ciphertext — it cannot read your data even in principle, since the decryption passphrase is never transmitted or stored there. If you don't set this up, this feature is entirely inactive.
None of these services receive any of your financial figures — only generic, non-identifying requests for public rate/price data.
If this website carries advertising (e.g. via Google AdSense) or the companion mobile app carries ads (e.g. via Google AdMob), those networks may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, per their own privacy policies. WealthLab does not share your financial data with any ad network — ad serving is entirely separate from the calculators and trackers, which never transmit your entered data anywhere.
WealthLab itself does not set tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage (used to save your data on-device) is not a cookie and is not shared with any server.
You can export your data (Track tab → Export JSON) at any time, and clear it (various "Clear data" buttons throughout the app, or clearing your browser's site data for this page) at any time. Deleting the app or clearing browser data permanently removes everything, since nothing is backed up elsewhere unless you used Family Sync or exported it yourself.
WealthLab is a general-audience financial planning tool and does not knowingly collect data from children, in large part because it does not collect data from anyone — everything stays on-device.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
