Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former TV journalist Lauren Sanchez are all set to get married this week. The grand wedding festivities have started in Venice. Here’s why it is dubbed as the ‘wedding of the century’.

$55 Million Celebration: The grand affair reportedly costs between $46.5 and $55.6 million. It also includes sizeable charity donations to Corila, an academic body dedicated to preserve Venice’s fragile lagoon ecosystem. (Image: Instagram)
Venice: The main party was held at the historic Arsenale, a 15th century fortified naval dockyard. Reportedly, the wedding might have been held at San Giorgio Maggiore’s basilica or Scuola Grande della Misericordia, an iconic Venetian landmark steeped in Renaissance grandeur. (Image: Instagram)
90 Private Jets, 30 Water Taxis: About 90 private jets touched down at Venice, Treviso, and Verona airports, while 30 water taxis zipped guests through the canals.
