Designer Arshna Raj shares with News18 the five runway looks from the Echo collection that stand out for their detailing, craftsmanship, and relevance to the season’s styling need.

Setting the tone for the perfect summer wardrobe, Arshna Raj the brainchild behind the sustainable fashion label shares with News18, five runway looks from the collection that stands out for their thoughtful detailing, craftsmanship and relevance to the season’s styling needs.
“There’s a deliberate play between structure and softness in the silhouettes—some pieces have strong, grounded shapes, while others flow and drape with ease. This Duality allows for summer dressing that feels both elevated and relaxed,” expresses Arshna, adding, “Echo doesn’t just ‘fit’ summer—it speaks to it. It invites wearers to flow with the season, embracing transformation, ease, and the tactile joy of well-made clothing.”

Echo is deeply rooted in the essence of summer—not just in terms of climate-appropriate clothing, but in the mood, spirit, and emotional tone of the season.For Stoïque Studio, sustainability begins with how they create. “We’ve embraced techniques that require no chemicals, using only pressure, heat, and handcraft to shape fabrics—mirroring how nature reshapes over time. We work with natural, summer-friendly fabrics such as Chanderi and handwoven cotton, and repurpose leftover textiles into floral appliqués and woven motifs, ensuring nothing is wasted,” says Arshna.
Five Runway Looks That Are a Must This Season
Each look from Stoïque’s Echo is a reflection of summer’s ease, joy, and movement. “Together, these five looks from Echo capture the season’s soul—airy fabrics, layered ease, floral stories, and a constant conversation between structure and softness. Each piece reflects the act of making, touched by hand, and shaped by time,” expresses Arshna Raj.
Pebble Tunic Set
A poetic summer ensemble, this look begins with a fine Chanderi tunic in a soft, blush pink. The fabric is featherlight and semi-sheer, perfect for warm weather. The neckline features delicate floral appliqués that evoke early summer blooms. It’s layered over a hand-block printed shirt and pants set in fine Italian cotton—lightweight, breathable, and effortlessly chic. The play between sheer and structured layers gives this look both visual depth and airy comfort, making it ideal for summer occasions and daytime getaways.
Fern Saree
This look is a tribute to timeless elegance, reimagined with ease. The saree is crafted in handwoven cotton, giving it a breezy, almost weightless drape. It features playful floral motifs at the pallu, and comes in two tonal shades of pink with a crisp, contrasting binding—modern yet rooted in tradition. It’s paired with a light kurta and a gilet, both in the same fabric, with subtle floral appliqués at the neckline.
The Beam Tunic
A bold and bright mood defines this ensemble. The Beam Tunic, in a striking cherry red, features vivid tonal floral appliqués at the neckline, crafted from upcycled textiles. Paired with a high-slit skirt in ash grey, this look offers a stylish contrast and effortless movement, ideal for beachside holidays or daytime events.
The Ember Set
This look is all about unexpected summer layering done right. The Ember Set features a ruffled jacket, a woven motif skirt, and trouser pairing—a celebration of texture, structure, and playfulness. “While it may seem maximalist at first glance, it carries a sense of spontaneity and freedom that aligns perfectly with summer’s eclectic vibe,” adds Arshna. Each element—the ruffles, the floral weaving, the flow of fabrics—works in harmony to create a memorable and expressive outfit.
The Gale Set
Light, bright, and made for travel, the Gale Set is crafted in rich Italian cotton, hand-block printed in a vivid Mediterranean blue. It’s an easy-wear top and skirt set that embodies the relaxed polish of a summer holiday wardrobe. Styled with a matching printed bandana, it brings a sense of nostalgia and fun. The silhouette is breezy, flattering, and extremely wearable, whether you’re in the city or by the sea.
Stoïque showcased at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI in Mumbai and at the runway showcase layering played a pivotal role in the styling of the collection which acted as a visual representation of transformation and fluidity, which according to Arshna were the core themes of the collection.
